On the outbreak of the First World War two series of charity stamps were issued to assist widows and orphans.

First Issue, 1914

These were sold with a 2 heller surcharge.

5 heller green SG 240.

10 heller carmine SG 241.

Second Issue, 1915

3+1 heller chocolate SG 242	5+2 heller green SG 243.
10+2 heller rose-carmine SG 244.	20+3 heller blue-green SG 245.

35+3 heller ultramarine SG 246.
